Yesterday while scrolling through my Instagram page I began to notice a micro trend. A lot of famous people and instagrammers are using AGAIN shearling coats and although it's not really my type of thing I still think they are worth a blog post.

Shearling is skin from a recently sheared sheep or lamb that has been tanned and dressed with the wool left on. This is obviously a very fluffy and expensive material but just like fur, there are plenty cheap alternatives, often reffered as sherpa.

Plenty of brands brought this type of coat to the runway. Marc Jacobs gave us classic incarnations, Olivier Rousteing decided to go with a duster plump with furry filler and Sarah Burton kept things cropped with the shearling extended all the way to the cuffs. Brands like Coach, Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton and Isabel Marant also decided to show shearling some love.
