For your fragrance project we were put in teams of five and me an dmi group decided to go with a bold idea, not very common in the fragrance market- a fragrance with cannabis notes.
While in London in our field trip, we came across 2 very different brands that caught our attention (literally everything else was so boring and repetitive).
Penthaligon's had a Portraits limited edition that featured 11 new fragrances all profiled specifically to mirror cultural icons of British history.

Fresh gave us inspiration for our own fragrance since they had an Eua de Parfum with Cannabis scents.

Going deeper into cannabis and the market around it, we decided to look not only to fragrances but also other products.
As cities increasingly move to legalize marijuana, more products appear. There are lollipops, chocolate, teas, energy drinks, cookies, ice cream,....
"The cannabis Industry doesn't need to create demand for a new product or innovation- it just needs to move demand for an already widely- popular product into illegal channels."
It cames as no shock to anyone who knows cannabis that this is a valuable plant with a LOT of benefits. It is rich in vitamins, has hydrating properties, stimulates circulation and smooths down rough cuticles and strengths hair. This is why, more and more, beauty companies are launching cannabis based products.
While doing our secundary research we noticed that few brands using cannabis accords and the ones that did were VERY OUTDATED, OVERPRICED and TARGET TO A VERY SPECIFIC CONSUMER. This is where we found our market gap.
